AFO has a "Flexible Schedule" which means that Volunteers can assign themselves to shifts as it fits their schedule each week - and each shift itself is also flexible to how much time you spend there (max of 2 hours per shift). Please confirm you understand most of the animals in our rescue facility have an unknown medical history and are unvaccinated - and that it is solely YOUR responsibility to make sure your own pets are kept current on preventative vaccinations to prevent any potential cross contamination or transmission of diseases between our rescued pets and your personal pets - and further, your confirmation releases AFO from any responsibility, financial or otherwise, if your pet becomes sick or otherwise due your own neglect to protect them from cross contamination. AFO's new volunteer training process consists mostly of "Virtual" interaction and learning. Please confirm you understand you will have to complete a Virtual Orientation and Virtual eTraining before you will be allowed into the facility.
Our primary method of communication among volunteers is via a Private Facebook Group. We require that all active volunteers utilize this resource. Please confirm that you have a Facebook Account and are able to join our Volunteer Only Facebook Group so you can stay on top of and aware of daily posts and updates regarding the facility.
Once your volunteer form has been reviewed and processed - you will be emailed by one of the volunteer managers. We typically process new applications within seven days. Make sure to check both your inbox AND spam over the course of the next week to make sure you received your "Next Steps" email.
